Bowery Run Spring Hope Gainesfield "Lily" is a jubilant water-seeker! She is our fourth generation from Bella, Una, and Duchess bringing with her all of the characteristics of a happy labrador retriever who loves the water. Bella's first litter had been bred during the thick of Covid and our goal then was to produce a litter to give families and us hope for a normal future. We kept Lily from the litter of six; and she gave us a lot of joy watching her mature with funny antics and a happy disposition. Lily has a thick chocolate coat and tail with a nice gait and biddable temperament. She is high speed in the water after bumpers that we toss into our stream. Named for one of the Renaissance's favorite flowers, the Lily is a national symbol of Italy which gives a nod to the Italian names of Lily's mother and grandmother Bella and Una. The white lily was usually associated with the Virgin Mary in religious contexts and the Holy Family, particularly the three buds on a single stem. Special thanks to Claudia Rosen at Gainesfield Labradors for "Duffy" Atlantic's Big Sky Ace of Cakes who is the sire of Lily continuing our legacy of lovely, stable labrador retrievers.
