Bowery Run Keep the Faith Quailchase "Poppy" is our fifth generation from Lily, Bella, Una, and Duchess. Poppy was named for the red flower which honors military sacrifice often worn on November 11. Remembrance Day or Armistice Day, commemorated the end of World War I hostilities at the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. The red poppy became synonymous with the fallen troops during the First World War and beyond. The poppies adopted this meaning because of the war poem "In Flanders Fields," written by the Canadian physician, Lt. Col. John McCrae.
Our Poppy has a beautiful dark chocolate coat with a thick, English structure and has a great love for the water. Every hike with Poppy ultimately ends with her splashing around in the Bowery Run stream unfazed by the weather. No doubt, her puppies will be fearless and fun! Special thanks to Duke and Tina Donahue at Quailchase Labradors in Phoenix, Arizona for sharing "Scott" Playmor Be My Guest Costa Sterlina to produce this special girl for our next generation of substantial, wonderful dogs.
